Keep the Tip: Repainting Rusty Surfaces on your RV

Our RV stairs and rear carrier were showing some wear with peeling paint and rust. Both are not asthetically pleasing, but with rust, in particular, if a corroded area is left untouched for a period of time the metal can weaken.  Luckily, it’s simple to get rid of the rust in three easy steps.  First, sand off the paint and rust from the metal surface.  Second, coat the metal with a rust inhibiting primer.  Lastly, paint the surface with a protective coating (i.e., Rust-Oleum products intended for metal surfaces).
