Replacing RV Awning Fabric

Hello, this is Levi with Henley’s Happy Trails! Natalie and I recently replaced our RV awning, which was getting pretty weathered and worn out. We decided to replace it ourselves. The whole process went really well.

We stayed at my parent’s place for a few weeks in December, and it was one of the projects my dad helped us with. If you missed it, we also build a nautical-themed bench/daybed to give us a comfortable place to sit and provide some more storage.

A Beginner’s Caution about First RV Awning Install

Before I get into changing the awning, I just want to say that this was our first attempt. If you are a veteran awning changer and you noticed that we made any step harder than it needed to be, feel free to give your tips in the comments below.

Since awnings come in many different models and sizes, we hope this video points you in the right general direction. It is possible for two or three people to stumble through the process in a couple of hours or less.

The Process of Replacing RV Awning Fabric

The following video shows the process we used to replace our old awning with a new one. We purchased the replacement awning from Sun Wave.

Full disclosure: We do not represent Sun Wave Products in any shape or form. We do not have an affiliate link through the company, either. This is simply a show-and-tell on an awning install.
